Q Kernel not available in Jupyter sandbox
Posted by teradesiharry on February 6, 2025 at 4:52 amTitle speaks for itself, when I go access my sandbox I can only access Python kernel and not Q and because of this I cannot complete the course interactively. Anyone facing same issues?

on a side note, I was able to run a Q kernel using Jupyter locally on my machine.

Hi
With the recent upgrade to our Academy sandbox, JupyterQ/embedpy have been removed since PyKX can now be configured as a replacement.
As a result, when running notebooks, you might notice that a q kernel is unavailable.
To resolve this, we recommend running a ‘git pull’ on the project or reopening the sandbox link from the course page. This should fix the issue automatically.I would recommend signing up to our kx.com/slack community to get up to date with future changes.

February 3, 2025 - KX Academy Upgrade !! - Hi everyone,

@mwoods Would you be able to provide a link where I can get and experiement taxi data on my local system?

We have removed the Q kernel from the sandbox as PyKX can now be configured as a replacement. If you have followed the above steps, can you then try running your notebooks using Python 3 kernel?
If you have any questions, let me know!
Many thanks,
Megan
