We are pleased to announce the release of Insights 1.8, which focuses on expanding the ways in which our users can ingest and stream data.  Key developments in this area include:

    • Parquet readers with filewatch and pattern matching capabilities to poll object storage and ingest files from each of the three major cloud providers; AWS, Azure and GCP  (Azure and GCP support are new).
    • A Python interface enables Python applications to publish data to RT, the Reliable Transport streaming message service.
    • A REST interface provides similar ability to ingest and publish data over HTTP.
    • Users can now stream from a pipeline to a client application via WebSockets. This includes the ability to stream both snapshots as well as real-time data. This feature is supported for kdb Insights only at this time.
    • Data in transit within kdb Insights Enterprise can now be encrypted, providing enhanced security.

Additional functionality for easier deployment and operation includes:

    • Support for On-Prem deployment of kdb Insights Enterprise using OpenShift.
    • Improvements to client terraform scripts include Kubernetes 1.27 support, CSP-aware logging defaults and additional VPN/Bastion connection options.
    • CLI level improvement includes browser-based authentication, token caching, support profiles for easier streamlined access over multiple environments.
    • A new Database Preview API that enables users to query a sample of their data from the database to use for understanding their data/schema, construct more complex queries or even build visuals on the full data set.

Detailed release notes for kdb Insights Enterprise are available here, and for kdb Insights here.
